At Gem Scroll Custom Jewelers, we believe your jewelry should tell your story, not just shine. Whether you’re transforming an heirloom, creating something brand-new, or reaffirming your commitment with a custom piece, our process is built around you. From our first sketch to the final polish, each step is intentional, transparent, and deeply personal.
1. Consultation & Inspiration
Clear choices and transparent guidance
We start with a conversation about your ideas, your style, and the meaning behind the piece. Bring inspiration images or heirloom jewelry you want to incorporate. We help shape the vision and outline what is possible.
2. Materials & Pricing
Clear choices and transparent guidance
We walk you through metal options, gemstones, and design details that fit your vision. If you bring your own stones or gold, we evaluate and credit any usable material. Once selections are made, we provide a precise quote before moving forward.
3. Cad Design
Your design takes shape digitally
We create a detailed digital model of your piece. You can view every angle, request adjustments, and refine the design until it matches exactly what you imagined.
4. 3D Printed Model
See and feel your ring in real space before metal work begins
Your design is then printed as a physical model that you can hold, try on, and experience. This is one of the most exciting steps for our clients. The 3D model lets you feel the proportions, inspect the details, and make any final refinements before working in precious metal.
5. Crafting & Creation
Expert workmanship from start to finish
Once the design is approved, our in-house team begins crafting your piece with care and precision. Most projects take four to six weeks depending on complexity. Express timelines may be available for certain designs.
6. Reveal & Final Touches
The moment your piece comes to life
We invite you to a virtual reveal of your piece. During your online appointment, you can closely review the details, confirm the fit, and request any final adjustments. Once approved, your finished piece is carefully prepared for secure shipping, along with detailed care instructions.

Frequently Asked Question
How much does a custom piece cost and how long does it take?
Custom designs typically start at $1,250, with final pricing based on your chosen materials and the complexity of the piece. Most projects take four to six weeks from design approval to completion. For tighter timelines, we offer an express option on select designs with a 10 to 14 day turnaround for an additional premium.
We will give you a detailed estimate and an accurate timeline during your consultation.
What’s the difference between fully custom and semi-custom designs?
A custom piece is designed entirely from scratch, starting with your vision and specifications. We’ll source materials and handcraft a one-of-a-kind design tailored specifically to you.
A modified design involves adjusting one of our existing Gem Scroll designs — such as changing the metal, swapping a gemstone, or adjusting the setting. Modifications allow you to personalize a design with little to no additional cost beyond the standard pricing.
We can help you decide which option works best for your needs.
Can you use my stones and metal?
We are happy to evaluate customer-supplied gold and stones. We’ll carefully analyze your materials to determine if they can be incorporated into your new piece. Gold will need to be melted and cast separately to maintain consistency and quality. If we can’t use the gold directly, we can credit any excess towards your purchse price. Heirloom stones will be inspected for structural integrity before being reset.
